Frequently Asked Questions

When did GMHBA stop offering the AIA Vitality program?

1 April 2026.

Why was this change made?

GMHBA regularly reviews its member offerings, taking into account cost, usage and long-term value for members. Based on this, we believe there are more effective ways that we can offer value to a wider range of members.

Is there anything I need to do?

Effective 1 April 2026, your AIA Vitality membership has been closed on your behalf and your total premium no longer includes the AIA Vitality program cost. Your new total premium details effective 1 April 2026 have been sent to you as part of the annual premium review communications.

If you’d like to explore other cover options, ask us for a cover review.

Can I keep my AIA Vitality membership?

You needed to transfer to an eligible AIA Priority Protection (Life, TPD, Trauma, Income Protection) or eligible AIA Health Insurance policy prior to 1 April 2026 to be able to keep your AIA Vitality membership and status. Please contact AIA Vitality directly to determine if your current AIA Vitality membership and status is still able to be transferred, or whether you would need to start again with a new membership.

Contact AIA Vitality Member Services at queries@aiavitality.com.au or by calling 1800 848 254 (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm AEST/AEDT).

How much notice was given?

Advance notice was given to ensure there was time to make the most of the vouchers and benefits from the AIA Vitality program ahead of 1 April 2026. GMHBA members were first notified of the changes in May 2025. We sent a reminder about the upcoming changes in the 2026 premium review communications and AIA Vitality have also been in touch directly with information.

Will I have access to the AIA Vitality app after the deadline?

Access to the AIA Vitality app is not available after 1 April 2026.

AIA Vitality Rewards and Benefits FAQs

Gym memberships

If you've previously enjoyed a discount off your gym fees with one of the AIA Vitality program partners – Virgin Active, Fitness First or Goodlife – your fees will revert to their regular fee structure after 1 April 2026 unless you transferred to an eligible AIA Health Insurance product or purchase an AIA Priority Protection policy, prior to 1 April 2026. Please check with your gym for your individual terms.

Apple Watch benefit

If you are still using the Apple Watch benefit, you are wholly responsible for any future payments between yourself and the loan provider from 1 April 2026 onwards. Please refer to your loan agreement for more details.

Shopping Rewards and Active Benefits

Can I still access my Shopping Rewards or Active Benefits vouchers?

You needed to have claimed any Shopping Rewards vouchers by 1 April 2026. You would also have needed to screenshot or save any downloaded vouchers outside of the AIA Vitality app, as they cannot be accessed within the AIA Vitality app after 1 April 2026.

To redeem your reward, simply follow the steps for each voucher supplier. Some vouchers can be used either online or offline, or both. Check the terms and conditions of your chosen voucher for more information. The expiry date will be shown on each voucher.

Virgin Australia, HOYTS and endota FAQs

Can I still book a flight and still get cashback?

You can book an eligible Virgin Australia flight via the AIA Vitality app and submit your flight details right up until 31 March 2026.

If you've already submitted your flight details, please make sure your nominated bank account details are saved in the cashback account in the AIA Vitality app, before you lose access to the app. If your flights are eligible, we will deposit your cashback into your nominated bank account within 6 weeks.

If AIA Vitality is paying your cashback after 1 April 2026, you will need to contact AIA Vitality Member Services to provide your bank account details.

When was the last day I could buy a discounted endota voucher or HOYTS tickets?

1 April 2026.
